Well, TWoT went on to say she had a better shot – one that included Tidy too. I said that if she sent it to me, I would have used that one. She didn’t believe me.

We had such a wonderful time, and if I didn’t get to meet you or didn’t get to talk to you that much that’s because there were EIGHTY-FIVE PEOPLE THERE!!!!    I’m sorry if I didn’t spend enough time with everyone, but it was such a great time nonetheless.  We can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done for the hash and the reception you gave us.  What a truly special (and I don’t mean “ride the short bus special”) group we are!

A friend of mine was pulled over for speeding last week, and ended up spending the night in jail because he’d been drinking. I’d hate for that to happen to a hasher, so some quick notes:

1) Observe the damn laws. Buckle up, use your turn signal and headlights, don’t speed.
2) If you can, get a ride. Easiest way to avoid a DUI.
3) In circle, I won’t make you drink if you don’t want to, especially if you have to drive. Hashing is supposed to be fun, not DUI-Attorney expensive. If you don’t drink, you’ll probably get a little good-natured ribbing. Shrug it off.
4) Also in circle, if you don’t want to do a whole down-down, that’s okay too.

Some hashers might consider this sacrilege, that’s fine. I’d rather be on trail than in jail – how about you?

The Hash House Harriers (HHH) is a more social version of Hare and Hounds, where you join the pack of hounds (runners) to chase down the trail set by the hare or hares (other runners), then gather together for a bit of social activity known as the “On-In” or “Down-Down” with refreshment, humor, song and the occasional feast. All are welcome, young and old, fast or slow, so don’t wait to get in shape, just come on out and join us. The only thing the VooDoo you require you to bring is a sense of humor – that’s it. Well, a sense of humor and a dollar. Ok, a sense of humor, a dollar, and a six-pack of your beer of choice. Crap, – all that, and a whistle and a flashlight is helpful too.
